Movies on a Plane Ride Home

Last week, I published a personal blog for the first time in years, unpacking my reactions to various media I consumed throughout the month of March. I must have subconsciously channeled Faulkner because it's fairly cerebral writing without any singular direction. I can only hope it makes a tiny bit sense to someone out there, even if it's just one person.

Entertainment and media continue to inform my adult perspective on most current and historical realities - ones that people, including myself, would commonly prefer to ignore and discredit. Honest, in-person conversation seems to be a rare art these days, especially with other white people. It's hard to know what to do. Amidst horrifying political chaos and social unrest, it gives me hope to uplift the expression of creative arts and human-interest storytelling. I'm currently unemployed and pursuing freelance work, so during this phase of my career, I've begun writing again out of an interest for our shared liberation from violent hierarchies of power.

I'm only just now beginning to understand that, if I expect the world to be a kinder place, I must first be a kinder human - particularly to myself. With that said, I'm very far from being an expert, but if taking a deep dive into my stream of consciousness sounds appealing to you, you're welcome to come along as I attempt to express my inner ecosystem with words. It's time I refamiliarize myself with vulnerability, honesty, and rawness, because I see how our shared future is connected, starting with individuals like me.

Lastly, if any of this resonates with you, and you love to write, design, produce, and collaborate on creative media projects, I'd love to connect. Let's be friends and amplify beautifully diverse and emotionally impactful stories together? 💞 Please!?
